This adapter will be needed in the event that a commercial LED light string must be powered from a common household electric outlet. It has a plug on one end to connect to a commercial LED light string. On the other end is a common household electrical plug to connect to a common household electric outlet. (It would be useful if this could be mentioned in the sale of commercial light strings manufactured with the commercial type electric connectors).

Not having read the fine print in the lengthy description of a short string of lights I ordered a couple of months ago, I did not realize that I needed this adapter in order to plug these lights into an electrical outlet. Luckily I was able to order this adapter in plenty of time to decorate my tiny, college-themed tree for the holidays.

Actually ordered this by mistake but when I saw how well it was made I ordered several strings of lights and will be replacing more sets. With conventional strings the possibility of fire is present (I know I had one in my mulch when water shorted the line).

Commercial LED Power Adapter
This is an ESSENTIAL item for some COMMERCIAL grade lights, providing the actual 2-prong electrical adapter that connects to the actual string BUT is ORDERED AS A SEPARATE PART. This allows multiple strings to connect with a special connector that is screwed together with a waterproof gasket to be more secure than regular plug style connections. My only problem with this adapter is that no mention was made ANYWHERE that it WAS NOT INCLUDED IN PURCHASE OF LIGHTS!!! This should be no-brainer stuff for distributors of these types of systems. A warning or caution that went something like: REQUIRES 2-PRONG ELECTRICAL ADAPTER (SOLD SEPARATELY)!!! C'mon folks! Throw us newbies a bone and give us a little help when you show us more exotic merchandise.

We have two trees outdoors that we decorate with multicolor LED lights. This product is one of the components needed to be able to hook the lights to a power source. This item works as it is supposed to and makes me feel secure about the safety of running current outside to light up our trees.

Finally
We ordered this item with another order of over $400 worth of lights. When we opened the box, the adapter was the only thing that did not get shipped. As a result, for the first time in decades we were not able to turn our lights on Thanksgiving Night; our tradition. It finally arrived YESTERDAY, a week later and we have lights. The lights are beautiful, however the disappointment of the item not being in the original order, then taking over a week to be sent to us when I explained how important it was for us to have it, dims the brightness of the new lights in our hearts.
