SoftTwinkle® is a Wintergreen Lighting® twinkling Christmas light technology where each bulb fades in and out slowly at its own rhythm. Standard twinkle lights blink on and off abruptly; SoftTwinkle® produces a continuous, organic shimmer, best for Christmas displays, weddings and events. It comes in 5mm mini light strings, net lights, icicle and curtain lights, C7 and C9 OptiCore® bulbs, and prelit wreaths and garland.
What's the difference between SoftTwinkle® and regular twinkle lights? The difference is how each bulb twinkles. Regular twinkle lights blink on and off abruptly. With Wintergreen Lighting® SoftTwinkle®, each bulb fades in and out slowly on its own cycle, so at any moment some bulbs are brightening, some are fading and some are fully lit. The result is a calm, continuous shimmer instead of a blink.
Who makes SoftTwinkle® Christmas lights, and where can I buy them? SoftTwinkle® is made by Wintergreen Lighting®, and Christmas Lights, Etc. carries the full line: 5mm mini light strings, net lights, icicle and curtain lights, C7 and C9 OptiCore® bulbs, and prelit wreaths and garland. OptiCore® SoftTwinkle® bulbs, which put the SoftTwinkle® effect in a shatterproof C7 or C9 bulb, are available exclusively from Wintergreen Lighting®.
Can I add SoftTwinkle® to my C7 or C9 Christmas lights? Yes. OptiCore® SoftTwinkle® bulbs come in C7 and C9 sizes and screw into any standard stringer of the same size: E12 candelabra sockets for C7 and E17 intermediate sockets for C9. Each bulb draws 0.8 watts, is rated for 60,000 hours and has a shatterproof polycarbonate lens 200 times stronger than glass. Both sizes come in warm white and cool white.
Are SoftTwinkle® lights good for weddings and events? Yes. The slow fade adds movement without drawing attention to itself, which suits weddings, receptions and events as well as Christmas and holidays from New Year's to the Fourth of July. Wrap trees with SoftTwinkle® string lights, drape bushes with SoftTwinkle® net lights, and hang SoftTwinkle® curtain lights on porches, pergolas, arbors and backdrops.
